What I heard on NPR Friday and yesterday was more along the lines of this brief I found on CNN
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
2008/02/06/dnc-chair-we-may-broker-
clinton-obama-deal/

I don't think either one is about to give in to strong-arming by Dean or anyone else.Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03379192575044761972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719252574677567989.post-89510056231506483182008-02-11T11:38:00.000-05:002008-02-11T11:38:00.000-05:00That seems a fair assessment, Rob. Up until Iowa, Clinton was the frontrunner and could act as any other frontrunner has since 1996 (when the Super Tuesday model of nominations solidified). In other words, dominate in delegate-rich states and wrap the sucker up.

Then Iowa happened and things took off, causing the Clinton camp to revisit their strategy. The thing about caucuses though is that it is difficult to counter established grassroots efforts with grassroots efforts on the fly. That is a real problem for Clinton now, regardless of who is currently holding the title of campaign manager.

A quotation I saw yesterday from Dean had him acting as Pontius Pilate on conventions and the Florida/Michigan situation. He indicated he was washing his hands of the whole matter and passing the buck off to the next guy.

If Obama sweeps the next two weeks' contests (and Virginia and Wisconsin seem like the only possible stumbling points), then momentum may be entering the picture.Josh Putnamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06301836432446874997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719252574677567989.post-40971008916529033172008-02-11T08:01:00.000-05:002008-02-11T08:01:00.000-05:00It is beginning to look like the Clinton Plan A wa...It is beginning to look like the Clinton Plan A was to ignore the caucuses and win it all on Super Tuesday. I don't think they had a Plan B, but it appears now that they plan to stop him in Texas and Ohio. If they do, then it may go the distance. If they don't, Obama is looking mighty good. If everything is deadlocked in April, how is Howard Dean going to step in and prevent a brokered convention?

Also, I know that Maggie Williams has experience with Hillary, but does she have experience running a campaign?Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03379192575044761972noreply@blogger.com
